This is a 1vs1 back checker game. The race is even. Black has some priming potential, but White might either try a late blitz or run with the back checker depending on dice. If either side succeeds in running it's back checker, it will have a definite advantage. The other two candidates: making the bar point - is dangerous because white has too many good numbers - hitting with 6 combinations, pointing on my head with 5 numbers, making the 3 or 4 point with 4 numbers, hitting lose with all the remaining direct or combination 6s and 4s. - the actual play - no combination shot in the outfield, but less constructive (now White has some semi-extrication numbers - all 6s but 61 and 66, 54 and Black is nowhere near a blockade. White is ahead and can run away anytime later with a six. The morale: Both sides' main task here is to extricate the back checker and thus gain a substantial advantage. Black has the chance and he must use it. White will still be a favorite, but if not hit, Black will have compact position with threats to block, prime or close out. |
